Description

Our coastlines are treasured natural spaces, yet they often reveal the hidden story of waste. During clean‑ups, participants may find plastic bottle caps, bags, disposable cutlery, cigarette butts, lighters, and even beverage bottles dating back decades. Some of this trash has traveled thousands of miles before washing ashore, showing that marine litter is not only a local issue but a global one.

Through the “Follow the Trash Journey” coastal clean‑up, participants can enjoy the seaside while taking action to restore its beauty. By collecting and analyzing the types of waste found, we gain valuable insights into our consumption habits and the culture behind them. This hands‑on experience is both eye‑opening and meaningful, inspiring us to rethink plastic use and reduce waste at its source, so that our coastlines remain clean and vibrant for generations to come.
