Description

Advertising banners and event backdrops are commonly seen across the city, yet most are discarded once their promotional use ends. Recycling these materials often requires high costs and complex processes, making it difficult to find suitable recycling channels in Hong Kong.

To extend their lifespan, this workshop guides participants in creatively upcycling old banners and backdrops into practical everyday items such as card holders, Octopus card sleeves, and pencil bag.

Beyond hands‑on crafting, participants will also learn about the broader waste challenges Hong Kong is facing, gaining insights into the obstacles behind waste management and reflecting on how to practice sustainable living in daily life. By combining creativity with environmental education, the workshop demonstrates how waste can be transformed into new value and inspires participants to take action for a greener future.
